Might just take action on your recommendation tonight, in fact - though the other half wouldn't forgive me if I watched it without her, and I have to kick up a stink some days just to get her to look in my direction, so.

As to The Crowded Shadows, directed by Jean-Pieree Jeunet and starring a reverse-Hobbited Audrey Tautou, count me in! :)Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08713791516631476930noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6498739347909985243.post-71611265486014430352011-02-02T20:27:17.318+00:002011-02-02T20:27:17.318+00:00Posted before I asked, have you seen her in Coco b...Posted before I asked, have you seen her in Coco before Chanel? I'm such a Jeunet fangurl though - and actually an even bigger Tautou fangurl! (If only she weren't so tiny I'd cast her as Hallvor in the (Jeunet directed) movie of Crowded Shadows. (One fan suggested I get them to size her up ala Hagred in the Potter movies. LOLZ!!!)Celinehttp://celinekiernan.wordpress.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6498739347909985243.post-70997788029424106802011-02-02T16:49:48.301+00:002011-02-02T16:49:48.301+00:00The Evil Hat: You really, truly must. This dude's one of the very best, needless to say. Come to that, I'm surprised there's a single living person who still hasn't seen Amelie! Get to it, my man.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08713791516631476930noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6498739347909985243.post-33340138116672692082011-02-02T16:47:18.105+00:002011-02-02T16:47:18.105+00:00Celine: I'm an Amelie man myself - though I ha...Celine: I'm an Amelie man myself - though I hate to be so predictable. Mind you, I adored A Very Long Engagement too, and in fact one of the first things the other half and I did together, back before we were remotely "together" as such, was see a screening of the continuing travails of Audrey Tautou in an artsy little filmhouse hereabouts. So it has a special little place in my heart. :)Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08713791516631476930noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6498739347909985243.post-75816030160621805272011-02-02T01:56:09.667+00:002011-02-02T01:56:09.667+00:00Micmacs was the first of Jeunet's movies that ...Micmacs was the first of Jeunet's movies that I've seen. I found it interesting, and certainly spectacular, but ultimately too flawed to be particularly successful. I'll look for some of his earlier work though, now, after reading this.Nathaniel Katzhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12852939663324751332noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6498739347909985243.post-13826611962765565052011-02-01T22:45:40.267+00:002011-02-01T22:45:40.267+00:00The Very Long Engagement is still my fav of his.
