The Day of Taking the Day Off

And on the seventh day, the writer rested.

Of course, in the greatest piece of speculative fiction of all, the seventh day, not coincidentally I'd go so far as to suggest, also happened to be a Sunday. But this is the seventh day of The Speculative Scotsman and by God, I'm going to take a day off, thank you very much.

Who uses the internet on a Thursday anyway?

There's plenty, however, to look forward over the next week, including at least two new reviews: of Boneshaker by Cherie Priest, and Peter Jackson's much-anticipated adaptation of Alice Sebold's The Lovely Bones. The Kraken preview I promised in the very first post on TSS is in the pipeline, too, and should run shortly. And, of course, there'll be this week's Hot Toddy on Monday, and a new Castmonger at some point, I think. Other things have yet to occur to me, but have faith, dear reader, and as sure as 12-foot tall blue aliens are strangely sexy, they will.
